Hi, I’m Kelvin, Associate Director at Ciencia Research!
My scientific journey first began at Oxford University where I studied biochemistry as an undergraduate. After obtaining my PhD at the University of Hong Kong, I left my hometown again for Sweden to pursue my postdoctoral studies at Karolinska Institute.
While I enjoyed my academic career, I always wanted to explore something new. This is why I transitioned from the intriguing world of molecular biology to the fascinating field of real-world evidence (RWE).
My day-to-day involves a diverse range of responsibilities, from leading RWE studies to fostering scientific and data capabilities at the company. On some days I would be deeply engaged with client-facing activities, other times I would put on my scientist hat to intensely research on a disease or formulate a study design.
I particularly enjoy the challenges and opportunities of deriving innovative and pragmatic data strategies to address complex clinical questions with scientific rigor. This requires a deep understanding of the client’s strategic needs, meticulous planning and execution, close collaborations with leading clinical experts, as well as an open mind to identify alternative routes to circumvent barriers. The immense depth and breadth of knowledge across therapeutic areas is the biggest drive for my constant urge to learn, improve, and deliver.
